Josh Kahn (USA)


Josh Kahn is a music industry executive with a focus on digital business development and
marketing. Over the course of the last 20 years, he has participated in the launch of
groundbreaking virtual band Gorillaz, after which he went on to work in various digital roles
at EMI, Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music Group’s Capitol Records,
culminating in his last major label role as Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing and
Product. Since leaving UMG, Josh has been working as an independent consultant with
labels and artists across Southeast Asia to help build infrastructure in emerging markets.
Notable clients in the region have included Cambodia’s Baramey Production (for whom he
negotiated the country’s first major label distribution deal and Telecom-DSP bundle), and
Thailand’s NewEchoes and High Cloud Entertainment. Josh also serves as co-organiser of
the ASEAN Music Showcase Festival, the first in-person edition of which launched in 2022
with 40 artists from across Asia performing at Singapore’s iconic Haw Par Villa.
