A_Root (同根生), originating from Yilan, Taiwan, is a band that blends traditional instrumentation with pop music to create a fantastical, alternative soundscape. By deconstructing mythology and folklore, they address the anxieties and challenges of modern civilization.

Their work weaves together multiple languages—including Taiwanese Hokkien, Mandarin, Hakka, and English—achieving a brilliant balance between a romantic temperament and primitive vitality.

They have earned numerous prestigious accolades, including Best Album Producer at the 34th Golden Melody Awards (often dubbed the Taiwanese Grammys), the Grand Prize at the 1st Global Hakka Pop Music Competition, as well as Best Band, Breakthrough of the Year, and Top 10 Albums of the Year at the 16th Freshmusic Awards.

Furthermore, they have been invited to perform at major international and domestic events, such as the 2024 Paris Cultural Olympiad, the Festival Internacional Cervantino in Mexico, Chiang Mai’s "Labb Fest." in Thailand, Fuji Rock Festival in Japan (2026), and leading music festivals across Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan.

Through immersive storytelling and a unique style that fuses folk, electronics, and alternative rock, A_Root (同根生) continues to captivate audiences around the world.
