Yoko City Ghost

Yoko City Ghost is a psychedelic rock unit from Medan, Indonesia, weaving traditional East Sumatran elements with cultural influences from India, Persia, and the Arab world. Their music explores dystopia, human helplessness, absurdism, and nihilism through a poetic and literary aesthetic.

 

The band consists of Tengku Ariy (bass, producer), Tony Ruin (vocal, tambourine), Ridho Zuhri (guitar), Kristian Glahita (keys), Jose Ludofikus (drums), and Evan Ewaldo (synthesizer, sequencer).

 

Emerging in 2020 with “Pembawa Cahaya,” Yoko City Ghost has since released their debut album, Sputnik-1 (2024), along with several singles and music videos. Their performances have taken them across Medan, Banda Aceh, Jakarta, Makassar, and other Indonesian cities, earning recognition from national and international media. The band is currently preparing their second album, “1001 Malam”, preceded by the singles “Mantra Akar Kamboja” and “Raksasa,” which offer a glimpse into their evolving sonic and thematic universe.
